The short version
VCam Studio processes your video on your own PC. We never receive your camera, screen or microphone. This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
What we collect
When you buy, our reseller Paddle.com processes your order and payment as merchant of record under its own privacy policy, and shares your name, email address and country with us so we can issue and support your licence. When you activate a licence, we store an anonymous device identifier so you can manage your devices. Paddle’s script loads only on the pricing and renewal pages, to show your local price and open checkout.
What the app sends us
VCam Studio contacts our server in a few situations only. At start-up it asks whether a newer version exists and, if you have entered a licence key, whether that key is still valid; this sends the key, the app version and the IP address of your connection. If you press Send in Report a problem, it sends your note, the diagnostics shown in the form and any crash report you chose to attach; nothing is sent without that button. If you use the Sketchpad or Annotation tools, the strokes you draw are held on our sketchpad service under a six-character room code, and removed after 12 hours without activity. If you switch annotation on from the Sketchpad page, only an on or off request is passed to your PC. Your video, audio, screen and scene contents are never sent.
This website
We store your language and currency choice in your browser’s local storage. We do not use analytics cookies. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in future, we will update this page.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
